The count begins. They kick up dust, as rustling winds blow tumbleweed along the edge of the dirt road. It all happens like slow motion. The crowds stand by watching in awe. With each step the artists walk, they get further and further from one another until at the sixth step they turn around and BAM! With the quick click of the trigger, one is declared the ultimate winner.
Okay, okay. This isn't a shoot out. But I am excited to say that of all my posts, the artist spotlights have the most views and these two talented artists are duking it out for the top spot. So I thought I'd set a little bit of a contest here for bragging rights. I'd like to see which artist has the biggest guns... and by "guns" I mean, support squad & fanbase.
Over the next week, we will encourage them to share the post with their friends and ask their supporters to leave a comment voting for them here.
Here are the links to their respective artist spotlights:
Artist Spotlight: Anthony Resto
Artist Spotlight: Greta Corens
Rules:
1. Voting closes Saturday September 28th at Midnight Central Standard Time.2. One point will be awarded for each of the following:
- Each view count on each post
- Each comment left on this page with the chosen artist and why you voted for them.
Continued discussion is encouraged, but only one point will be rewarded per respondent.
- Each comment on the artists' page explaining which piece you like best or what sort of art you
would like to see them doing in the future.
3. In respect of fairness, only views received after this article is posted will count towards the contest.
4. Please vote based on your preferences of artistic skill and appreciation.
5. Please be respectful and realize this contest is just a fun way to get these artists names out there and share their work with more people. This is NOT meant to be a war between fan bases. Any disrespectful or inappropriate comments will be deleted and disqualified at the discretion of kindredclosets.blogspot.com.
Tips:
1. According to Blogger's tallying methods, views from different browsers count separately. Visit wisely.2. Sharing links on social media sites will increase your view count. Make sure to tag your shares with #kindredclosets and tell your friends who you are voting for.
3. In the spirit of fairness, please do not use automated view count programs. That will lock up my website and surely shut it down. If there are suddenly 1,000,000 views in 2 minutes on one artist's page, the contest will unfortunately be cancelled by default.
4. You may choose to visit their personal sites listed at each post before you make a decision.
5. The winner receives bragging rights as Kindred Closets September 2013 Artist Showdown Winner and will be featured in a future post. If this showdown goes well, I am considering making it something bigger. Keep a look out!
Alright, artists, it's back to back time... ready, set, go!

What a joy to view Greta Corens portfolio. I have so much respect for watercolorists who achieve the kind of realism Greta can accomplish. It probably helps that I am especially partial to irises but for me, she wins this showdown hands down.
ReplyDeleteThanks for voting! Make sure to check out both of their portfolios! They are both truly talented artists!
DeleteLianne, I haven't found you until today, and I do not as yet know you, but be assured that your lovely words translate thoughts that have been a whole life in the making. A book called "The Language of Flowers", by Vanessa Diefenbauch, translates the mysterious conveyance of emotions as a hidden quality of flowers that can not be formulated. THANK YOU for your efforts and your wonderful support.
DeleteI want to express my admiration to you for your selection of two fine artists for this showdown. I have looked at both portfolios and given my vote to Greta Corens but not without really examining her opposition. Anthony is a wonderfully imaginative and extremely talented artist, whose fantasy style is very, very appealing too. You did make it very difficult - because while they are completely different genres, they are both amazingly gifted. Good luck to both of them. Lianne http://lianne-schneider.artistwebsites.com/
