12 Inspiring Images: Emotion Of The Wind In The Trees

I have a thing for trees. Almost every culture has a mythological connection to a tree. There's tree of the knowledge of good and evil and the tree of life in Judeo Christian religions and of course the cross of salvation created from none-other than a tree. There's the ancient world-tree, the Yggdrasil of the Norse mythology. The Bodhi tree in Buddhism. The Druids practiced tree worship.Egyptians and Greeks both had mythology centering around trees. There are festivals in Japan centered around the time of the year in which the cherry blossoms bloom. There are trees to which people people make pilgrimages to tie wishes and prayers on.

I even once made an ode to a real wishing tree for a baby shower to celebrate the ushering in of new life.

Perhaps the tree is also iconic to us due to a more scientific reason. Back when we were hunter gatherers and nomads living off the land, a tree off in the distance in the desert would signal a water source, the source of life. Regardless there is something majestic and beautiful about these trees. I hope they inspire you as much as they inspired me.

Grow

This morning I woke up to the feeling of my little kitty pawing at my pillow. I checked my Pinterest and my Facebook, and I laid in bed cuddling my dog and cat. Then I got up to water my plants. I love plants. My apartment is filled with them has quite a few plants. I have a lovely little succulent garden. Succulents are fairly easy to take care of. They can handle heat and droughts and people who forget to water them. ;)

This is a drawing I made on my Sketchpad app of one of them. I hope you like it.  :)
